How much will my job cost?
This depends on many factors. We treat each job individually, so please feel free to request a quote.

How long will it take?
This depends on even more factors. We work quickly and efficiently, but the turnaround time can vary, especially on the type of job. A run of 100 black and white copies can usually be done while you wait. Business cards can take from one or two days to a week. Conventional print jobs (such as envelopes, letterhead, brochures and newsletters) usually take about a week. Large jobs and custom orders can take up to 3 weeks. If you are in a time crunch, call us first. We will do our best to accommodate your situation.

What file formats do you support?
We support all major Adobe files (PDF, InDesign, Photoshop), Quark Xpress, Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel). We do not currently accept Microsoft Word documents created from Windows Vista (those that have a ".docx" extension). We ask that you save this type of document as a previous version of Windows, such as ME or XP. Please call us if you have any questions. Also, we do not accept CorelDraw files. You must save these as .eps files. For .eps files, please convert all text to outlines or curves. Otherwise, please supply all fonts and graphics.

What types of paper do you offer?
Way too many to list! We can get literally hundreds of types, colors and weights. Let us know what type of paper you want and we will do our best to find it.

Can you print on paper that I provide?
In most cases, yes. We ask that you give us at least 10% more sheets than what you require to be printed. We will return the unused portion unless you instruct us to use all of it. We cannot guarantee that we can print on every paper type and we will advise you if we cannot print on yours. We will not replace any paper that you bring us that is lost due to misfeeds or jams.

Can I see what my job will look like before it's printed?
Absolutely! We offer proofs for all in-house jobs at no extra charge. Some companies we work with do charge a nominal fee for proofs. We will do our best to inform you of this in advance. If you are concerned about the appearance of your job, paying a few extra dollars for the proof is money well spent. Also, we will try to inform you in advance if we think there will be any quality issues with files you supply us for printing. Quite often, we catch errors before your job is printed, but if you decline to see a proof, we cannot be held responsible for any errors in your finished job.

What are bleeds?
A bleed is when the ink on a finished piece is printed all the way to the edge of the sheet. If you provide files that require a bleed, you must accommodate the bleed area in the file. Any graphics that bleed must be extended a minimum of 1/8" beyond the edge of the layout. If you are not sure how to do this, ask us first. We may be able to help you do it. There will be additional charges for adding bleeds to your files.

What can I do to make my graphics and photos turn out great?
Save them at a high resolution. We recommend at least 300dpi. Low-resolution files (such as logos found on web sites)
will not reproduce well in print.

Why don't the colors on my printing match what I see on my computer screen?
Your computer screen uses the RGB (Red-Green-Blue) spectrum, also called a gamut. This is a wider range of colors than can be printed using conventional printing methods. Conventional printing presses use the CMYK process (Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black). This uses a smaller gamut, so not all colors in the RGB spectrum can be printed in the CMYK format. In addition, some Pantone (PMS) spot colors cannot be matched using CMYK.

Do you deliver?
Yes, with some limitations. We offer free delivery on Mondays and Thursdays within Harrisonburg city limits. Only orders of $35 or more are eligible for delivery. We are concerned about high transportation costs, so we reserve the right to delay delivery.

Why was I charged a disk fee?
Running a computer network is expensive. If we unwittingly get a virus from a customer's file (and we have), it threatens our entire network structure and costs a lot of money to repair. Our disk fee (currently $6) helps us defray the repair cost and allows us to maintain our customers' files. The disk fee applies to any files transmitted to us by any electronic means (email, cd, thumb drive, web upload, etc.) Please be aware that we also charge to send your files (at your request) to third parties. This charge is currently $5.
